Adsense Ad Placement Tips

Hello all! It has been a great week with respect to my Adsense program. I am really happy that my previous ad placements worked well for me, although I didn’t have that much traffic. I am still experimenting with the Adsense ad placements. In this post, I shall share some useful information and tips about Google ads placement on your website, to maximize its earning potential.

There are many people who have nice websites but their Adsense is not giving them much cash. One of the reasons may be that the ads are not placed properly. Adsense ad placement is a crucial part of Adsense optimization. If your Adsense is not working out well for you, read through this article and put these tips into practice. You will soon see the difference in the earnings.

Tip 1 – Experiment with the Ad Placement

The first tip I would like to give to you is to never get stuck with one ad placement scheme. Even though this “perfect ad placement” is working well for you, but you may want to change the format of ads a little, or change their positions a little. These may give your earnings a boost. If they don’t, you can always revert back to your old “perfect ad placement”.

So, play with your ad placements. You may use Adsense Reports to analyze the performance of your different ad placements. Then choose the one, which works best for you.

Tip 2 – Use Heat Maps for Google Adsense

There are a lot of different formats of website and blogs out there. E.g. there are 1 column, 2 column, 3 column and even 4 column websites. Some 3 column websites have one left column and one right column while the content is in middle and so on.

The best Adsense placement may be different for all of these. The basic idea of optimized Adsense placement is to place the ads where they are most visible or where they get noticed easily. Google provides a “Heat Map” for this. It can be found here. The darker zones wills bring you more clicks are compared to the lighter ones. So try to put your ads in the dark zones. But do remember the first tip – keep on experimenting!

Tip 3 – Your Ads Must Be Visible

You should place your ads in the parts of your pages, which appear first when the pages load. By this, I mean the ads must be near the top. You may place a leader board ad under the header. You may also put a vertical skyscraper ad in the left or right side column.

The ads near the bottom of the pages are the hardest to monetize, unless some really good effort is put into them. But this too depends on the different formats of the websites. For example, if you have a blog and you get a lot of comments on your posts, putting Adsense ads after the posts will really be a great idea.

The basic idea of this tip is to make your Adsense ads more easily visible and approachable. You should not make your visitors drag their mouse towards your Adsense. Normally they won’t. Try to put the ads at the places, where you think the user activity will be the maximum. E.g. you may put the ads near the navigation, near the buttons etc.

Tip 4 – Place Ads Close Together

You must try to put two ad units close to each other. And they will most often perform better, if they are placed in perpendicular to each other.

You may use this format. 160x600 ads are placed with 300x250 ads

Or you may use this format. 728x90 ads are placed with 300x250 ads

Or you may use this format. 728x90 ads are placed with 160x600 ads.

Tip 5 – Embed the Ads in Content

You must try to embed the ads inside the content. This way the ads will look like the content. And will have more chances to get clicked.

For this purpose using the large rectangle (336x280) is the best option. Or you may use the medium rectangle (300x250). You may wrap the text around these ads for the best results. You may see the example of this format on the top of this post.

Using these tips, you can improve your Google Adsense Earnings significantly. I can’t put more emphasis on experimenting with different ad formats. You must use the Google Adsense reports to analyze your Adsense ads performance.

Best of luck of with your Adsense!

How Much Can I Make Using Adsense?

You must be asking yourself how much you can make using Google Adsense Program. You may be thinking that you may not earn as much as you can from traditional advertising and money making schemes.

Google keeps the privacy for the how much Adwords advertisers pay for each click that is directed to their site. They also keep the secrecy about how much each Adsense banner holder makes from his website.

There are a lot of places on internet, where you will see the rumors about how some people are earning certain amounts of cash from their websites using Adsense. This information is not official, however. It is illegal to disclose the information about how much one is making with Adsense. Still there are stories on internet about people who are making fortune using Google Adsense.

Often you will find the stories of people telling that they are earning more that $100,000.00 per month with Google Adsense. But this is not easy to achieve and is hard to believe.

Adsense will come in really handy, if you have lots of pages on your website. This way, even if some pages don't generate a lot of traffic individually, but together they all can earn you a lot of money.

How Much Can I Make Using Adsense?

There are no rules of thumbs about how much one earns using Google's Adsense. But there are certain things that you can take into consideration, to get some idea about how much you are going to make from Adsense.

  1. The traffic to your website. The more visits your website gets everyday, the more clicks you can get everyday. If you have a lot of clicks per day, you'll make good money.
  2. The theme sexiness of your website matters a lot too. This means, if your site is about something popular e.g. music, fitness, fashion, your banners will get more clicks.
  3. The next important thing to consider is the position and number of the ads on your website. Place the ads at a prominent place. If the ads are at a prominent place and are at more than one position on a place, they will have more chances to get the clicks.

There are many factors, upon which the Adsense earnings depend. But if your website has a large amount of traffic every day, you will make a lot of money using Adsense.

Getting Started With Adsense

Hello and Welcome to Free AdSense Money Tips! In this article, I will explain the process of adding AdSense to your website. One of the brilliant features of Google AdSense program is that it makes it very easy for you to setup an AdSense account and then use it on your website.

It takes only a few minutes to setup an AdSense account, and after that, you can put the Adsense ads on your website. It's that simple!

Steps to Getting Started With Adsense

The first step in this process is to go the URL, http://www.google.com/adsense. Now if you have an account, login with your username and password. Otherwise, you have to create an account here. You have to agree to Google AdSense Terms and Conditions, in order to proceed.

Then you will be shown a report page, which shows you the detailed status on how your AdSense advertising is doing. This serves the purpose of a feedback. Based on this feedback, you can decide how to make your AdSense more effective, by modifying the content or the AdSense ad layout.

This page has a "Setup" tab on the top, which will help you to generate the code. This code will then be pasted to your website, as a result of which, Adsense banners will start showing on your website.

You have three choices, when it comes to earning with your Adsense program. First one is the AdSense for content, the second one being the AdSense for search, and last but not the least, the AdSense for feeds. Don't worry if you can't understand this right now. I will explain these later.

There is also a "My Account" tab. By clicking on this tab, you can setup the details about your account, payment and tax information.

To add and show a text ad on your page, click on "AdSense Setup" tab and chose the "AdSense for content" link. The cookies must be enabled in your browser.

There are two types of "AdSense for content" ads. You can choose between ad units and link units. The ad units show text and/or images concerning a certain site. This ad contains a detailed description too. The links units however only contain links to the other sites.

This choice is not an easy one. You have to experiment with both the types. You have to follow trial and error, until you get the desired results from your ads. Google has put a restriction on how much ad units and link units you can show on your pages. You may only use one link unit and three ad units on one page.

Now you have to choose the ad format and colors. There are some color palettes provided by Google. You can choose the look and feel for your ads from these given palettes. You can also preview the ads, as you keep making changes to them. The best way to choose your ads' format and colors is to keep the look and feel of your website, where you are going to show these ads. The two must be in harmony. The title of your ads must have the same color as that of the links on your webpage. The text in the ads must have the same color as that of the text in your site.

When you are done with this customization, click "Continue" from the bottom of the page, to proceed. Now a JavaScript code will appear in the text box. Copy this code. This code will show the Google ads on your website.

Now you can copy this code and paste it into your web pages directly, where you wish to show them. If you are using dynamic websites, you can paste this code inside the template, so that the ads show automatically on all the pages. You may also choose not to show the ads on all the pages. It depends on you.

Now the next step for you is the most important one. You have to put content on your website. The reason being, Google's crawlers will soon visit your website to check if the ads shown on your website are relevant or not. So put lots of keyword focused quality content on your web pages.

And you are done! Now you are ready to monetize from your website using this simple and easy to use Google AdSense program. I hope this post would have helped you. On this blog, I will post more articles about how to optimize the ads for increased revenue from Adsense.

Adsense - What is Google Adsense?

Adsense - What is Google Adsense?

Hello all! In this post I will describe the basics of Adsense and what is it that makes it so important for online businesses.

If you logged into internet a few years ago, you may have noticed that the advertising on internet was more like, the way it was on TV or newspapers. On the websites, you might have seen the banners representing different companies who pay for that ad space.

These banner ads were not often relevant to the website. e.g. if you wanted to buy a laptop online, and you entered some e-shopping website, that sold laptops. And that website was showing the banners for watches. That banner would have been helpful, if you were there to buy a watch. Or it might become helpful later, when you plan to buy a watch.

But currently it would have been nice, if the banner was advertising a laptop. Because this would have given you more information about, what you were really interested in buying.

What is Google Adsense?

The google team thought of the same thing. And they came up with a brilliant solution. They named it Google Adsense. The advertising done using the google adsense is known as a targeted advertising program.

Google adsense makes the life easier for web masters too, who want to put relevant ads on their websites. Now instead of going over many different sites, looking for banners, which wouldn't even get clicked, they can simply allocate some portion of their webpage to google ads.

The process for getting and showing google ads on the website is really simple...

Firstly you have to sign up for the Google AdSense program. The google adsense program will provide you with a small snippet of code. You have to insert this code in your web page. That's it. Then Google makes sure that the banner appears on your site, in the location specified by you. And the ads will be relevant too.

What google does behind all this? Google basically goes through your page, and looks for the keywords in it. And then searches a database of websites. It looks for the websites that are related to your website's concept. And then displays the relevant ads on your website.

Now since the traffic on your websites is interested in the content of your page, they will more often click on the google ads showing on your page. Because they are relevant to what you have on your website.

If you want to advertise, even then, google adsense is an awesome program for you. The reason being the same; the ads and the content in the ads is relevant to the website, they are being displayed on.

The ads being relevant, is the key for this program's success. All the parties, the publishers, the advertisers, and the Google are benefited from it.

Google AdSense is a unique advertising program, since the ads displayed are relevant to the content of the site. The advertisers who want to advertise using this program, get this done, by paying some fee to Google. The webmasters or publishers can earn money from Google, by displaying the relevant ads on their website.

Google also provides the statistical tools, to measure the efficieny of your google ads. As we know, feedback is very necessary for the success of anything. These statistics are necessary in the same way.

In a nutshell, this whole program called Google Adsense is an elegant mechanism. It involves visitors, publishers, advertisers and Google itself. And everyone benefits from it. I hope this article explained in some detail the basic working of Adsense, what is it that makes it different from other advertising programs.
